BIKE TRAIL CONNECTOR STUDY The City of Newark and Neighborhood Design Center (NDC) completed a study in 2009 to connect the existing bike trails on the east and west sides of the City. The study examined possible bike trail connections via northern, central, downtown & southern routes in addition to identifying ideal trailhead locations.November 24th Final Report The final versions of the Report and Appendix are now available: Newark Bike Trail Connector Study - Final Report Newark Bike Trail Connector Study - Appendix The last page of the Report contains a map of the recommended bike trail routes & trailheads: Newark Bike Trail Connector Study - Route & Trailhead Map October 26th Council Committee Presentation On October 26, 2009, the final results of the study were presented during the Public Service Committee meeting. The presentation included trailhead and route location recommendations (included below) as well as the results from the public surveys. The City will wrap up the study with the NDC shortly once the cost estimates and final report are complete. Meeting Presentation September 9th Public Meeting The City of Newark held a second public meeting that included a presentation and public discussion on the alternatives under consideration.
