The Division of Information Systems (IS) for the City of Newark provides technology, systems and support to the various Departments and Divisions in the City. The IS Division also helps facilitate the implementation of technology to serve the citizenry by working with other government subdivisions, agencies, elected officials, and schools in our community.
Digital Technology is involved in almost every area of service the City provides through the use of data, voice and video information. These services are implemented in many everyday things seen through our community. They range from traffic signals, reading water meters, life safety services to digital audio recording of City Council Meetings and the fiber optics that interconnect many of the City buildings.
